Stacey Carlson

Director of Recreational Therapy

Stacey grew up on the west coast of Canada where she discovered her passion of working with people with disabilities. While attending Douglas College in the Recreational Therapy program, Stacey spent two summers in Indiana working with campers with varying disabilities at Bradford Woods. While at camp, Stacey met her future husband.

Stacey completed her internship at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago where she became involved with the US Paralympic and Wounded Warriors programs. Stacey worked closely with the outpatient Caring for Kids program, assisting young athletes access and develop skills in adapted sports including wheelchair basketball and sled hockey.

Upon graduating, Stacey and her family moved to Dallas, Texas where she gained experience working with individuals with disabilities on the Medicaid waiver. Wanting to be closer to family, Stacey moved from Texas to Fort Wayne, Indiana where she began working as a Recreational Therapist in 2014.

Stacey and her husband, Mike, currently reside in Fort Wayne with their cat, Gus, and golden retriever, Walter.
