Jheny joined MDS in 2023 while searching for a mission-driven organization. In her professional career, Jheny has worked for a number of non-profit organizations, including the Indianapolis Art Center and Starfish Initiative. With a background in Social Work, bilingual proficiency and creative problem-solving skills, she’s been able to adapt and work with diverse groups. Jheny believes in the power of treating everyone with dignity and respect, she values diversity and community connections. Her life experiences as an immigrant woman continue to motivate her to advocate for respect and equal opportunities for all. She loves developing programs and events and is excited to support her staff and see clients reach goals. In her free time, Jheny loves spending time outdoors or crafting and drawing with her twelve-year old son. They have a new (big) puppy and they take occasional trips to southwestern Michigan to visit family. Jheny attended Goshen College, she is originally from Mexico and her favorite food is Pad Thai!
