Kristy Allred, MT-BC, has been a board certified music therapist since 2012. After completing an internship with special needs populations at Hartvigsen School in Utah she left the mountains and came to the Midwest. She has been with Meaningful Day Services since July of 2012. Kristy’s specific interest in music therapy is working with communication goals and overall wellness through the use of receptive and expressive music experiences. She also loves helping clients come to a better sense of self-confidence through participating in songwriting, recording original songs, and performing. Kristy’s primary instrument is the oboe. She also plays the guitar, piano, various percussion instruments, the pennywhistle, and has recently begun learning how to play the harp. She has studied Japanese, Spanish, and American Sign Language.
