Kat Cooper joins Meaningful Day Services as the Human Resource Director for our human resources department. She has over 25 years’ experience as a human resources director, and applies a strong expertise in conflict resolution, recruitment and retention, and regulatory compliance that will add a positive addition to the MDS team.
Prior to joining MDS, Kat was a corporate human resource director at Indiana Masonic Home at Compass Park, where she led the corporate human resource department of approximately 320 employees in the multiple functions of human resources for approximately 9 years. During her tenure she put a safety program in place to increase safety standards and reduce cost for the organization. The results of the safety program were a reduction in the modification factor from 1.92 to .67, and a savings in the workers compensation renewal of $275,000.
Kat Cooper holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management with a minor in Human Resources. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management and National Association of Professional Women. In addition, she is actively involved with emergency preparedness, is a psychological first aid instructor, is mass fatality certified, and certified in field service training. She has been involved in rescues in Indiana with regards to emergency events for the past 11 years.
She enjoys attending art fairs, is an avid runner and is an animal rights advocate. In addition, she participates in pit bull foster parenting to advocate for animal rights.
